The brief description of Blockchain in healthcare

Blockchain maximizes security and accessibility, the technology can be used in many different areas of the healthcare system, such as for storing and sharing medical records and insurance information both in healthcare venues and in mobile applications and remote monitoring systems, and for clinical trials.

In the world of healthcare today, there are two major focuses that must be addressed: data security and data ownership. We focus on the development of new fast algorithms and architecture to ensure authentication and integrity of data produced by wearable and portable devices. We consider how to associate users’ devices to the uniquely signed and crypto-secure digital ledger under various attacks/threatens.

The brief description of Blockchain in education

The most promising use case for blockchain in higher education is to transform the “record keeping” of degrees, certificates and diplomas, making credentials digital and under the learner’s control, without the need for an intermediary to verify them. The recent and rapid evolution of distributed computing and blockchain technology has pushed us to rethink and reimagine many of the foundational aspects of our traditional systems of education. Blockchain maximizes security and accessibility, concepts like trust, value, privacy, and identity are all coming into question as we usher in a new suite of technologies. This paper attempts to provide references and links that help to know better and reflect about this new technology, as well as to contribute starting the indispensable debate about how education would implement this, what is the benefit of using blockchain technology and in what terms.
