A solar power station with a capacity of 30 kW was put into operation at the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent

In November 2022, a solar photovoltaic station with a capacity of 30 kW was put into operation on the territory of the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, which provides electricity to the sports complex on the campus of the university.

During his address to Parliament and the people on 20 December 2022, the President of Uzbekistan noted the importance of the efficient use of energy resources in the country. The President of Uzbekistan noted the importance of the efficient use of energy resources in the country, calling on state organizations, large industrial facilities and households to rapidly introduce renewable energy sources to support their activities.

In order to support the transition to “green” energy of educational institutions, development of the field of renewable energy sources and contribute to the achievement of carbon neutrality of the country, a solar photovoltaic station was installed on the territory of the university to provide electricity to the sports complex, opened in 2011. The area of the solar station is 150 sq.m. and consists of 58 solar panels each with a power of 535 watts. The automatic intelligent control of this system is provided by a Huawei inverter, which, depending on the weather conditions, can automatically control the generation of solar energy for the internal needs of the 2400 sq.m sports complex. The average amount of electricity generated by the plant per year will be 44,873 kW/h, and for the expected life of more than 25 years, the plant is capable of generating 1 041 778 kW/h of electricity. Given the availability of space on the rooftop of the sports complex and other buildings on campus, the university intends to carry out a further phased increase in the capacity of the photovoltaic plant.
