Results of the visit of the delegation headed by the rector of the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent to the Republic of Korea
On May 6-9, 2024, a delegation led by the rector of the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, Olimjon Tuychiev, made a business trip to the Republic of Korea.
On the first day the trip, a meeting was held with Yosik Kang, president of the Seoul Digital Foundation. The meeting discussed the issues of scientific research on the introduction of artificial intelligence in the field of digitization, support of startup projects of students in this field and cooperation in the field of ICT in improving the knowledge and skills of the population.
As a result, an agreement was reached on the participation of students of the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent with their developments at the Seoul Smart Life Week event organized, by the Seoul Digital Foundation, which is planned to be on October 10-12, 2024, and attended by about 20 thousand specialists, scientists and students from more than 230 organizations of the world.
Discussions were also held with Kim Don Chol, deputy chairman of Korea Software Industry Association. There were discussed the issues of improving TTPU’s IT curriculum based on IT enterprise requirements and obtaining the Association’s “International IT certificate”until TTPU students complete their studies.
On the second day of the business trip, delegation members met with Chon Min Pak, Chairman of “Korea Drone Industry Association”, Hyuk Pak, CEO of “Skyports”, Sun Jin Kin, head of “Jin-Air”, and Jun Bom Lee, executive director of “Accesswe UAV system” were held. Within the framework of the meeting, in the context of the great need for drones in Uzbekistan today as part of the meeting, the transfer of technologies for their production and the development of software were discussed. At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between “Korea Drone Industry Association”, “Skyports”, “Jin-Air”, “Accesswe UAV system” enterprises and TTPU.
Also, delegation members held a meeting with Teijin Kim, executive director of BizData enterprise. As part of the meeting, the issues of implementation of innovative projects on automotive, pharmaceutical, agricultural and natural resource conservation through large-scale data (BigData) and summer practice of TTPU students were discussed.
As a result, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between BizData and TTPU for the transfer of water processing technologies for production enterprises and the training of Engineers on AI and the summer practice of students.
On the second day, a meeting was held with Chon Ok Re, Director of the Korea International Industrial Cooperation Institute. Within the framework of the meeting, the issues of developing and launching training programs on the demand of industrial enterprises for personnel, establishing cooperation on the introduction of South Korean Advanced experience in the field of IT training were discussed.
According to the results of the meeting, an agreement was signed with the Korea Institute of International Industrial Cooperation on the implementation of joint educational programs in the areas of programming, artificial intelligence, IT engineering, mobile application programming and mediadizayn from the next academic year at TTPU.
On the third day of the tour, negotiations were held with Yeungnam University President Choi Oe-chool to establish cooperation on the basis of the 2+2 model in the training of IT engineers at TTPU on the basis of South Korean experience, to implement the exchange of professor teachers and students.
As a result, an agreement was signed on the organization of joint educational programs by providing the opportunity for undergraduate students to study two years at TTPU and continue the next two years at Yeungnam University, training qualified specialists in the field of IT engineering based on the specific needs of industrial enterprises and ensuring their practice in large IT enterprises of South Korea.
On the fourth day, the following works were carried out:
Specialized in the production of South Korean auto parts, Ajin Industrial Co. the company was visited and closely identified with the company’s operations. With Sea Junho, the executive director of the company, the prospects for the internship of TTPU students and the employment of graduates of joint educational programs at this enterprise were discussed.
Also, the members of the delegation got acquainted with the activities of the R&D Center for the processing of electric car batteries and the Center for Future Cars, which were organized under the Kyonbuk Technopark.
As a result of the negotiations, it was agreed to establish the R&D Center for the processing of electric car batteries at the TTPU in cooperation with the Kyonbuk Technopark on the basis of Korean grant funds and send TTPU researchers in this direction to the Republic of Korea for a short-term scientific internship.
With this, a delegation led by Olimjon Tuychiev, the rector of the TTPU completed a business trip to the Republic of Korea and arrived in Tashkent on may 10.
