Discipline is the key to success

On September 14th, a meeting was held between the students in the dormitory and the university administration.

The meeting was attended by the rector J.Sh. Inoyathodjaev, the first vice-rector A. Ashurov, the head of the department of work with youth G.A. Allamova, the adviser to the rector on women and family issues F. Nabikhanova, adviser of rector Boymatov N., tutors of the academic group and residents of the university dormitory.

At the meeting, students were informed in detail about the internal rules of the dormitory, and strict adherence to them was determined. It was emphasized that the student should take care of the dormitory building, property and equipment and keep other areas always clean and orderly.

The students were introduced to the conditions created at the university so that they could spend their free time meaningfully and effectively, and engage in regular sports.




Employees of TTPU won the scholarship contest of the «El-Yurt Umidi» Foundation

Employees of “Civil Engineering and Architecture” department of Turin polytechnic University in Tashkent Abdurakhim Nabijonov and Mukhammad-Bobur Zokhidov won the scholarship contest of the «El-Yurt Umidi» Foundation for the MASTER’S education program.

“I was born in a family of teachers. I am very grateful to my father, who was my first teacher through my way in science and technology. We were used to discuss scientific topics since I was very young and hard to perceive the scientific terminology. But always he tried to define every single keywords, even small details and interesting points. After graduating from Turin Polytechnic university in Tashkent, I worked as a private teacher of exact sciences. In that period I realized that I was chosen to become a teacher and I could add my contribution to built my nation’s bright future by applying my full academic skills and my mission was fully defined by targeting to become a well qualified teacher. Now I am working as an assistant teaching staff(laborant) at the university gaining the great and considerably important experiences through applying the knowledge gained from highly qualified foreign professors during my studies at TTPU. Now I am going to expand my academic and scientific potential by continuing my study in the next step of educational program at Politecnico di Torino in Italy as I have been successfully selected to Mechatronics – Software technologies for automation program through which  I can effectively add my contribution to technological and industrial sectors of our country’s economy”-said Abdurakhim Nabijonov.

Our second winner, Mukhammad-Bobur Zohidov, graduated from the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent in 2020, and he is currently working at the “Civil Engineering and Architecture” department of the university. Mukhammad Bobur Zohidov, enrolled the master’s degree at the Faculty of  “Advanced computational and civil engineering structural studies” at the Technical University of Dresden, Germany and received a grant from the “El-Yurt Umid” Foundation.

We congratulate both of our awardees on their achievements and wish them success in their future endeavors!




A license for new educational disciplines was obtained

Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent got a license from the State Inspectorate for Supervision of Quality in Education under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan to provide training in the following new educational disciplines from the 2022-2023 academic year:
For bachelor degree:

  • Business administration (Management)
  • Industrial manufacturing technologies

For Master’s degree:

  • Restoration and Conservation of Historical Monuments
  • Information and Communication Engineering



A memorandum on the development of green energy was signed

In the process of globalization, due to the increasing demand for energy and constantly rising energy prices, it is necessary to develop a “green” energy sector using modern, clean and renewable energy.

In order to develop the green energy, Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent signed a memorandum of cooperation with “Solar Nature” company




The first defense of the dissertation for the PhD degree was held at the Scientific Council under TTPU

Today on august 19, 2022, the first defense of dissertation was held to get the degree PhD.22/01.02.2022 T.144.01 at the Scientific Council under the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent 08.05.06 – Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) on technical sciences with the specialty ” Wheel and trailer vehicles and their operation”.

Researcher Yusupov Sarvarbek Sodiqovich’s presentation on the topic of “Establishment of synergy of innovative intelligent transport systems in local conditions” was heard.

The meeting was held in a traditional/online format. After the lecture, there was a discussion on the scientific work, in which the researcher answered the questions of the members of the meeting.

After that, the official opponents of the researcher gave their conclusions on the dissertation, focusing on the topicality and scientific innovation of the topic.

At the end of the meeting, according to the decision of the scientific council, it was deemed appropriate to award the scientific degree of doctor of philosophy in technical sciences to Yusupov Sarvarbek Sodikovich.




International Scientific and Technical Conference

 “International Conference on Electrical Facilities and information technologies 2022” was held at Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent

  During the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Korea in December 2021, he stressed the importance of developing innovative cooperation between universities and the need to create a permanent space for their regular communication.

In this regard, in cooperation with the Turin Polytechnic University, the Korean National Transportation University and the Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers signed an agreement between the two countries to further develop the system of training highly qualified engineers based on international best practices in energy and ICT, as well as to expand international scientific cooperation in higher education.

In order to initiate cooperation, Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent with the involvement of about 100 Korean scientists from various fields jointly organized the international scientific and technical conference “International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information Technology 2022” (https ://icef2022 .org/) dated on August 10-13, 2022.

The conference is beeing held in a hybrid (offline and online) form, and participants from countries such as Korea, Italy, Turkey, India, and Pakistan are attending.

TTPU Organizes Seminar on Nuclear Energy Program with U.S. Leading Scholar

Local participants of the seminar on preserving objects of the cultural heritages are getting ready to meet their counterparts from Italy, Germany, Croatia and Tajikistan via Zoom platform at TTPU’s conference hall (September 15, 2020).

Two leading specialists from the United State and Uzbekistan participated in the seminar on Nuclear Energy Program on August 5, 2022.

From the U.S. side, it was Dr. Rizwan Uddin, who is leading expert in the field of nuclear, plasma and radiological engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He led two seminar topics. One was on “Human Capital for Carbon Free Energy Sources.” The second topic was about Master’s Program in Energy Systems at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

“Carbon free energy, environment, and sustainability are complex, interconnected challenges facing humanity. An integrated approach is critical to address these daunting challenges,” says Professor Rizwan Uddin of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. “It requires a new mindset as well as training of personnel who are aware of the challenges and have the skills to use the tools available to tackle these.”

Vohid Qudratov, Head of Science and Innovation Department at Uzatom Agency also participated in a seminar. He made an overall presentation on Nuclear Power Program in Uzbekistan.

In regard of this seminar, TTPU Rector Jamshid Inoyatkhodjaev says, “It is the beginning of good collaboration.” 




Our students were included in the Uzbek Student Almanac “Ziyolilar”

There are many ambitious students at the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, who never stop improving themselves!

As proof of this, three students from our university were included in the Uzbek Student Almanac “Ziyolilar”, which is published annually and contains profiles of the best students throughout the country.

These three are Saidakbarkhan Pulatov, Akbar Imamov and Jasur Mustafoyev, all undergraduate students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

The main goal of the “Ziyolilar” project is to explore how young people suceed through their work and ambitions, the challenges they faced, their plans for the future, and a host of other fascinating information.

MOCK exams were held for professionalizing degree “Industrial Manufacturing Technologies”

On July 26-27, MOCK exams were held for new professionalizing degree “Industrial Manufacturing Technologies” of TTPU. The exam was held online, fully in English in Asaka factory of “Uzauto Motors” JSC.




Erasmus+ CBHE MechaUz consortium continues its meeting and training activities in Viana do Castelo.

On July 19 the consortium of the MechaUz project had a productive time with visits to the industrial and educational facilities.

The visit started from the CITIN- Industrial Technological Interface Centre, where the project partners were acquainted with the technologies and methodologies that allow the center to perform integration of education and industry. The director of CITIN Sergio Lopes presented quite interesting information regarding the work which is being done in the Centre, especially the research on transformation to Industry 5.0. Sergio Lopes expressed its readiness to cooperate with Uzbek Higher Educational Institutions on this field. The speech was continued with information about start-up incubator organization INCUBO which is engaged in helping young and small companies to develop completely their business-plan, get fund for their project realization.

Later on, the consortium had a tour in the IPVC laboratory of Mechanical Engineering. The laboratory has a strong emphasis on the automotive sector, especially repair and maintenance. The specialists of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent had a very productive conversation with the technicians of the laboratory regarding the construction and maintenance of automobiles.

Finally, a visit to the school of Agriculture was held. The specialists of the school presented their scientific research works in the field of crossing plants and wine production.

In the frame of Erasmus+ CBHE project “MechaUz- modernization of mechatronics and robotics in Bachelor degree in Uzbekistan through innovative ideas and digital technologies” Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (Portugal) hosts 2nd training and 4th project-partner meeting between July 18th and July 23rd.

On July 18th the project partners held a meeting in the walls of the Institute to discuss very important issues and aspects related to the project activities.

The meeting started with a welcome speech of Carlos Rodrigues, president of IPVC. He stated that the cooperation of European and Uzbek universities in the frame of this project will provide great opportunities for developing sustainable networking even at the period when the project activities are finished.

Representatives of IPVC prepared quite a broad agenda of activities which includes discussion of key issues related to the project, trainings for teachers and engineers and also cultural events. Other representatives also made a very useful presentation about the current status of Work Packages and other issues regarding the project.

According to the presentations, all HEI performed quite well in the development of laboratories in the frame of the project.

A discussion of the constitutional law draft of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held at the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent

On July 14, 2022, there was a discussion of project of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan “Development of amendments and additions to the Constitution of Uzbekistan” with the participation of employees, professors, students of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent.

Shamsiddin Amonov, the head of Almazor district justice department, took part in video conference, and discussed the changes and additions expected to be added to the Constitution, and detailed their relevance.

Amendments to more than 60 articles of the Constitution and addition of 6 new articles are under consideration.

During the event, the participants expressed their opinions on the draft Constitutional law and received answers to their questions.




THE SECOND ENTRANCE EXAMS WERE HELD AT TTPU

On July 5 and 6, the second entrance exams were held at TTPU.

Professors from Turin Polytechnic university in Italy took part in exam, in order to conduct and control an open and transparent examination process.

We want to remind that the admission test for Management track will be held on July 13th.

Applicants who couldn’t come to the first and second exams have an opportunity to enter the 3rd entrance exam, which will be held in september.

Master Degree Program: “Information and Communication Engineering”

Overview

The master program will cover the interdisciplinary approach to learn how to design and operate any modern communication system, including satellite and radio links, fiber optic networks, computer networks, wireless networks and how to process an information: signals, images and videos.

Curriculum of the master program was developed in the framework of SPACECOM Erasmus+ project (www.spacecom.uz) which creates the innovative teaching and learning environment for education of high skilled specialists in line with labor market and according to EU best practices and Bologna process.

Program Offer

The main goal of the Master of Science (MSc/MEng) programs is to provide graduate students with advanced education and training for highly qualified professions in data analysis and communication technology field. In this program, students will learn main aspects and skills in the field of analysis of big data, use and develop of communication technologies. Gained skills through the program gave an opportunity to apply by graduates further research or job in the area of:

  • Aerospace communications;
  • Mobile and cellular communications;
  • Connected cars and autonomous driving;
  • Data centers;
  • Satellite communications;
  • Environmental data analysis;
  • Multimedia processing and machine learning;
  • Telecommunication and computer networks and
  • and etc.

The Master Course’s teaching methodology is incorporated into the general structure of the course and enables students to continue their education for PhD study programs either in European, national or international institutions.

Course Activities

The two-year Master Course is divided into four semesters (two years). The overall number of 120 ECTS credits is assigned for Master Course and is divided into 30 ECTS per semester (60 ECTS per year). The number of credits per subject is in general 6 ECTS as in many European countries. See the curriculum of the master course.

First-year students are provided with theoretical backgrounds on different disciplines with basic training to learn the use of software and tools.

Second-year students are involved in the analysis and data collection from specific case studies where they can elaborate the idea for the final thesis. 

The 4th semester is comprised with the research (laboratory or professional practice), oriented Master’s thesis writing and submission (research-based learning) of total 30 ECTS.

STUDENTS EXCHANGE AT TTPU CONTINUES

On June 24, 2022, a meeting with students who won scholarships to study in Italy took place at Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent. About 40 TTPU students will study for Fall Semester 2022 at Politecnico di Torino (Italy) under the Erasmus exchange program. Most students will receive their monthly stipends of 850 euro throughout the semester, plus their round-trip tickets will be covered.

Vice-rector for Academic and Scientific Affairs of TTPU, Fulvio Rinaudio, spoke to students at the meeting, which was held in an interactive format. Students received all necessary answers to their questions about living and studying in Italy.

For information: Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent conducts an Erasmus exchange program with Politecnico di Torino for 2nd and 3rd year students. Period of study: Fall semester 2022 The program involves students of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Engineering.

In addition to Italy, TTPU students also may spend one or two semesters under exchange programs in Poland, Spain, Germany, Russia, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Lithuania and more.




THE TRAINING OF THE SPACECOM PROJECT IS HELD AT ARTESIS PLANTIJN HOGESCHOOL ANTWERPEN

On June 13, 2022, the weekly training meeting of the European Union Erasmus+ CBHE program on the SPACECOM project began at Artesis Plantijn University College of Antwerp (AP Hogeschool Antwerpen). This meeting includes the networking, coordination meeting of consortium partners and special training on FPGA Programming and Software Defined Radio (SDR).

On the first day of the meeting, all partners of the project:

2 European universities: Technical University Sofia (Bulgaria), AP Hogeschool Antwerpen (Belgium), and 6 universities of Uzbekistan: Tashkent University of Information Technologies (Tashkent) – project coordinator; Fergana Polytechnic Institute (Ferghana); Tashkent State Technical University (Tashkent); Tashkent University of Information Technologies Karshi Branch (Karshi); National University of Uzbekistan (Tashkent); Astronomical Institute of the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences (Tashkent); Retraining In-Service Center of Academic Staff in Tashkent University of Information Technologies (Tashkent) and representatives of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent (Tashkent) were attended the event.

Erasmus Plus empowers development of training and research landscape on Intelligent Big Data Analysis in Uzbekistan

The team members of the ELBA project, Mr.Mansur Asranov, and Mr.Khamidulla Khabibullaev, conducted an online seminar for the Network Center at Tashkent University of Information Technologies. Mr.Mansur Asranov focused his speech on the opportunities provided by the Erasmus Plus CBHE Joint Projects program, and ongoing projects in TTPU, such as #ELBA, #ERAMCA, #MechUZ, #MUSAE, and #SPACECO. He also highlighted its impact on the development of the training and research landscape of Uzbekistan, especially in the field of Intelligent Big Data Analysis (IBDA). Mr.Khamidulla Khabibullaev provided comprehensive information about the outputs of the #ELBA project, such as the newly developed course package, IBDA training, and research center infrastructure specifications.

The project facts and results were welcomed by the attendants with great interest.
Moreover, the ELBA project team members shared their experiences and motivated professors and researchers from the hosting center to step into “The amazing world of Erasmus+”.




PRACTICAL VISIT OF THE ERASMUS+ PROJECT MEMBERS TO “VILNIUS BALDAI”

On June 1 of this year, members of the Erasmus+ project consortium “MechaUz – modernization of mechatronics and robotics for higher education institutions in Uzbekistan through innovative ideas and digital technologies” visited the Vilnius Baldai furniture production plant.

The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the production processes of the university. The consortium members were presented with a full production cycle, starting from the process of feeding raw materials to the packaging of final products. The guests of the plant noted the high level of automation of production. It was also found that the plant has very close scientific and practical ties with the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University.

At the end of the meeting, the guests had a very informative conversation with the plant’s employees about the importance and necessity of introducing new technologies for teaching mechatronics and robotics in higher educational institutions.




THE FIRST TRAINING OF THE MECHAUZ PROJECT IS HELD AT VILNIUS GEDIMINAS TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

On May 30, 2022, the 3rd meeting of the European Union Erasmus+CBHE program on the MechaUZ project began at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS Tech). This meeting included the interaction of partners and special training.

On the first day of the meeting, all partners of the project: 6 European universities (International Greek University (Thessaloniki, Greece) – project coordinator, Research Center of South-Eastern Europe (Thessaloniki, Greece), Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Vilnius, Lithuania), Liepaja University (Liepaja, Latvia), Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (Valmiera Latvia), Polytechnic Institute of Viano do Castello (Viano do Castelo, Portugal) and 6 universities of Uzbekistan: Andijan Engineering Institute (Andijan) – The event was attended by representatives of Turin Polytechnic University (Tashkent), Fergana Polytechnic Institute (Ferghana), Tashkent University of Information Technologies (Tashkent), Karshi Institute of Engineering and Economics (Karshi), Tashkent State Technical University (Tashkent) and the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Rector of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University at the opening ceremony of the training seminar, Prof. Dr. Romualdas Klyukas made a speech and wished the project participants success.

Then, in accordance with the WP2 agenda: implementation of educational programs within the framework of the development of a new bachelor’s degree program, information about the education system, mechatronics and robotics was discussed with partners with the participation of project coordinator Thomas Tomidis (Hellenic International University, Greece).

The training seminar and discussions continue in accordance with the agenda.
