On February 8, 2024 an event on the topic “Awareness is the need of the times” was held among the students of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, where S.S. Saidjalolov, a senior teacher of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, was invited as a guest.

In his speech, he talked about terrorism, radicalism, extremism, which are considered to be urgent problems, the involvement of young people in various negative impacts of foreign ideas, as well as the work being done to fight them in our country.

TTPU “Mechanical and aerospace engineering” department doctorate student Jasur Kholkhujaev has successfully defended his PhD dissertation at Politecnico di Torino (Italy) on the topic “Innovative geometrical and mechanical characterization of metallic components”, under the supervision of Prof. Gianfranco Genta (Politecnico di Torino) and Prof. Jamshid Inoyatkhodjaev (TTPU) and was awarded with PhD diploma.

Chemistry is one of the most important and extensive fields of natural science, that studies substances, as well as their composition and structure, chemical reactions, as well as the laws and patterns that these transformations obey.
          On January 20 and 27, 2024, the head of the Department of Natural and Mathematical Disciplines of TTPU, Doctor of Technical Sciences, academician Dilshat Ubaydullayevich Tulyaganov taught a lesson on the topic of chemistry basics with schoolchildren of secondary schools № 196 of the Almazar district of Tashkent and № 9 of the Tashkent district of the Tashkent region.

At the beginning of his speech, D.U.Tulyaganov focused on the activities of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, aimed at training highly qualified specialists for mechanical engineering, energy, industrial and civil engineering and other sectors of the national economy.

Introducing schoolchildren to the basic concepts and laws of chemistry, academician Tulyaganov emphasized that chemistry plays a huge role in human life. Everything that surrounds us – people, animals, plants, mountains, seas, objects – is directly related to chemistry. Based on the basic laws of chemistry, it is possible to conduct scientific research aimed at creating new materials.

During his lesson, the academician spoke about the thinkers of Ancient Greece and the encyclopedist scientists of the East Abu Raikhan Biruni, Ibn Sina and others, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of natural sciences, in particular their statements about the existence of extremely small, further indivisible material particles that make up the whole universe. The lecturer, in a very interesting and accessible form, introduced schoolchildren to the results of the scientific research of J. Dalton, J. Thompson, E. Rutherford and N. Bohr, who made an invaluable contribution to the evolution of ideas about the structure of the atom.

At the end of the classes, Academician Tulyaganov spoke about the history of the periodic law by D.I. Mendeleev. It was emphasized that the periodic system of D.I. Mendeleev became the most important milestone in the development of atomic-molecular science.

Students actively participated in the discussion and asked questions, demonstrating their interest and attention. The administration of educational institutions expressed the opinion that such events will help schoolchildren better decide on their choice of profession and build their life path.

The amount is decided by the distance between Istanbul and Tashkent. According to the European distance calculator https://erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu/resources-and-tools/distance-calculator   the distance band indicated is 3000-3999 km, which corresponds to 530 € for travel support and 610 € for Green travel.

On January 22-24 of this year, at the initiative of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khorezmi in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 7 universities of our republic and 3 universities of the EU – the Polytechnic University of Turin of Italy, the University of Portugal and the Polytechnic University of Madrid. the first meeting of participants in the international project “Development of the targeted Educational program for Bachelors in Solar Energy in Uzbekistan (DEBSEUz)” within the framework of ERASMUS+ Higher Education Capacity Building.

A cultural and educational event on the topic “Armed forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan – a post of peace and tranquility” dedicated to Defender of the Motherland Day was held at Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the beginning of the event, the anthem of our state sounded, and the first vice-rector of the University Alisher Ashurov opened the event with his welcome speech.

Guests of the event – military servants of the University of Public Security of the Republic of Uzbekistan: Lieutenant Colonel Sadikov Khafizjon Murtazaevich and Doctor of Philosophy in Military Sciences, Akbarov Laziz Izzatullaevich warmly welcomed and congratulated the participants of the event with the defender of the Motherland day and the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

After that, a video dedicated to our Armed Forces was shown. During the event, Central singing and dance ensemble of the Armed Forces, as well as the musical performances of our talented students, gave the participants a high mood.

The 5th meeting of the ERAMCA project and the Final Workshop were convened from January 7 to 11 of 2024 at Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent (TTPU), Uzbekistan. The aim of the meeting was to gather all ERAMCA project partners at TTPU to discuss the progress of the activation of the ERAMCA master degree program and laboratory in every partner university.

The following high-level guests participated at the meeting: Ms. Sara Noshadi,Head of the UNESCO Office in Tashkent, Uzbekistan; Ms. Aziza Abdurakhmanova, Coordinator of National Erasmus + Office in Uzbekistan; Mr. Botir Abdullayev, Art and Culture Development Foundation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Mr. Tursunali Kuziev, Deputy Director of the Agency of Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Mr. Alessandro LIAMINE, Programme Manager of Cooperation Section Delegation of the European Union.

At the end of the meeting the delegation visited the new ERAMCA laboratory, met master students and got acquainted with their research activities.

In honor of the 31st anniversary of the adoption of the constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on December 7, 2023, an intellectual game “Zakovat” was organized between students and employees of TTPU.

The main purpose is to organize students’ free time in a meaningful way, to further strengthen their extracurricular knowledge in a wide range and strengthen their knowledge about the Constitution and the national anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The moderator of the club meeting, tutor of the academic groups Eshonkulov Mirshod started the game and wished the participants good luck.

Out of 10 questions, “Evreka” team answered six questions correctly and got 6 points, “Winners” team also answered six questions correctly and got 6 points, “Diyor” team got only one question. “Erudit” team got 1 point by answering correctly, and “Erudit” team got 3 points by answering three questions correctly.

At the end of the event, the participants from each team mentioned the most interesting and team-liked question in the previous game. Students noted that they will participate in the next meetings and exchange ideas with each other.

On December 6, 2023 an event on the topic “New Uzbekistan-updated constitution” was held at the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, dedicated on December 8 – the 31st anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The first vice – rector of the University-A.Ashurov, judge of Almazar District in criminal cases-X.Sadigov, judge of the Tashkent inter-district Economic Court-O.Gulomova, teacher of the Faculty of international education of the Institute of Pharmacy-H.Mamatova and the chairman of the NGO “Council of young lawyers” at the foundation of the Youth Union of Uzbekistan – G‘.Tursunmetova took part at the event.

The event was opened by the first vice-rector of the University, A.Ashurov, he noted that it is our duty to know in depth every article of our Constitution and comply with it.

During the event, a judge of the Tashkent inter-district Economic Court O.Gulomova as well as a teacher of the Faculty of international education of the Institute of Pharma X.Mamatova spoke out and touched on the essence and significance of our Constitution in the new edition. In particular, in the process of improving the Constitution, the active participation of our people, the new norms that took over from our reformed Prime and their enormous importance in our lives were mentioned.

Also, Judge of the Almazar district X.Sadigov mentioned that the principle of “Man – society – state” was taken as a basis in our Constitution in the new edition, that is, each article reflects the value of man, his rights and freedoms.

Every year, on the eve of the winter season, “Fire Safety Month” is held in our country to prevent fire-related accidents.

In this regard, within the framework of the “Fire Safety Month”, Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent hosted, an event aimed at giving necessary recommendations to students and employees, fire safety prevention of unpleasant situations related to fires, carbon monoxide poisoning and air-gas mixture flash, compliance with safety rules for the use of heating devices and emergency evacuation.

At the event, students were introduced to the rules of fire safety. Giving explanations about the goals and tasks of fire prevention activities, the causes of fire, the procedure for using fire extinguishers, the fire extinguisher and its equipment, the occurrence of a fire.

At the event, the Emergency Situations Department of Almazor district of Tashkent city took part in a lecture and demonstration session for university students and academic lyceum with his personnel and firefighting crew members.

Building Bridges for the Future

A pivotal moment of the program was the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between the University of Macedonia and three Uzbek universities, including our own. Cooperation within the framework of the Memorandum involves student mobility and visiting scholar programs, academic programs collaborations, research activities, scholarly activities such as seminars, trainings, conferences and symposiums. This marks a significant step towards international collaboration and knowledge exchange in Biomedical Engineering.

The Cultural Immersion

The program concluded with a visit to the Museum of Aiani, offering our delegates an enriching experience of Macedonia’s cultural and archaeological heritage.

Looking Ahead

The I2-PLEDGE project, part of the ERASMUS+/Capacity Building European initiative, is set to span three years. It represents a monumental step in creating interdisciplinary biomedical engineering programs to leverage digital growth and enhance student employability in Uzbekistan.

On November 23, 2023 a competition on computer technologies programming was held at Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent within the framework of the implementation of the Memorandum signed by the university branch and the necessary initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The purpose of this competition is to organize the effective use of computer technologies among young people, as well as to ensure the active participation of young people in the search for scientific solutions to existing socio-economic problems in the areas of priority for the development of our country, and to support their initiatives and proposals for the development of new innovative products.

On November 21, 2023, according to the initiative of the senior inspectors of TTPU, a round table was organized on the topic “Consumption of psychotropic drugs among students and the premature prevention of offenses and crime”. At the event University senior inspector Lieutenant Colonel Sh.Yusupov, Senior Lieutenant O.F.Ismailova, Deputy Dean A.Azizkhodjayev, tyutors and student took part.

Speakers at the event alerted young people to the legal liability of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the relevant articles of the criminal and administrative liability code regardless of age and social origin for committing fraud and crime among young people under the influence of psychotropic drugs, their negative consequences, also students to comply with the rules of internal order of students dormitory,. 

At the end of the event students ‘ questions, suggestions and comments on the topic were listened to and given answers and instructions.

According to the memorandum signed between the Italian Trade Agency and the Innovation Development Agency under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and innovation at the Business Forum, which was held on June 6-7 of this year as part of the visit of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Italy, work on the opening of the “Italian-Uzbek Center for Advanced Engineering” at the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent is being effectively continued..

As envisioned in the second stage of the project, in order to retrain and improve the skills of personnel for the center, specialists are currently training at prestigious Italian professional educational institutes. Particularly, 5 specialists in the field of textile industry are studying at the University of Prato Polo in Florence, 4 specialists in the field of leather industry at the Arsutoria School of leather industry in Milan and mechanical engineering at the ECOLE Institute. Educational processes take place in a theoretical and practical way by visiting production enterprises.

In order to expand the scope of the project, establish contacts with partner organizations and monitor educational processes, meetings with specialists from the ECOLE, PIN and ARSUTORIA educational institutions, production enterprises of FICEP, PietroCarnaghi are held by Jasuratov Gayratov, Project Manager of the “Advanced Engineering Center of Italy-Uzbekistan”.

During the meeting with Barbara Colombo, President of the Italian company for the development of machines, robotics, automatization technologies and auxiliary products (UCIMU) further stages of the project, technology transfer and other cooperation issues were discussed.

Yesterday, November 16, marked the advisory meeting for recently chosen CBHE projects in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations. The session brought together representatives from MHESI, HEREs, and the seven newly selected CBHE projects.

During the meeting, participants shared their past experiences and discussed new opportunities. Presentations covered various topics related to each CBHE project, HEREs, and the NEO team. Overall, the gathering was highly beneficial for all involved.

On November 10, 2023, President of Italy Sergio Mattarella within the framework of his official visit to Uzbekistan visited Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent (TTPU). Led by Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Oripov, the distinguished guest was welcomed by Chairman of the Board of Uzavtosanoat JSC Ulugbek Rozukulov and Rector of TTPU Jamshid Inoyatkhodjaev.

The Italian delegation was represented by Rector of Turin Polytechnic University in Italy (PoliTo) Guido Saracco, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Anita Tabacco and other representatives of the university.

One of the main goals of the Italian President’s visit was to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in priority areas, particularly in the field of industrial transformation.

President Matarella said in his speech that the exchange of knowledge and experience has always been at the heart of the partnership between Italy and Uzbekistan, emphasizing that the long-term cooperation with Turin Polytechnic University is the result of more than a decade of work and represents a concrete path for both countries.

Guido Saracco expressed great honor for President Mattarella’s visit, emphasizing that since 2009, TTPU has been a leader in spreading engineering education and Italian technologies in Uzbekistan.

During the visit, a university tour was organized, where the participants of the delegation got acquainted with the electronic resource center, Cultural heritage technology lab and Educational laboratory on Industry 4.0.

Within the framework of the visit to TTPU also workshop “Heading 4.0: education and innovation partnership for a transformative change of industry in Uzbekistan” was organized by the Politecnico di Torino, the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent and in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Tashkent as part of the initiatives for integrated promotion and the relaunch of the country system in Uzbekistan.

Special attention was paid to the prospects of training, research and technology transfer between the universities of both countries, as well as the best practices of industry 4.0.

On November 1, 2023, an event on the topic “Prevention of oppression and violence between women and girls” was held for the students of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent.

F. Nabikhanova, rector’s adviser on Women’s issues of the university, gave an introductory speech. In his speech, he said that women’s rights have been confirmed by the state in the newly developed Constitution, and strict measures are being taken against violence against women.

Senior lieutenant O. Ismailova explained what a protection order is, how it can be used, and what liability issues exist if the terms of the protection order are violated.

Lieutenant-Colonel Sh.N. Yusupov, senior preventive inspector informed the students that they should follow the internal procedures of the university and not commit various violations.

Today, guest lecture with the General Director of UzAuto Motors and UzAuto Motors Powertrain Bo Inge Andersson was held at Turin Polytechnic university in Tashkent.

During the meeting, students had a great opportunity to get acquainted with the career path of a true professional with more than 30-years of experience in automotive industry. Also interesing talk was about dynamics of automobile industry, UzAuto Motors company’s values, priorities, the professional development opportunities given for employees and many more.

During the guest lecture, Mr. Andersson gave valuable advices to students, shared his international experience and answered all their questions. Participants who gave the most interesting questions and winners of Quiz were awarded with gifts by UzAutoMotors Powertrain.

As part of the visit, Mr Andersson was also closely acquainted with technopark, laboratory and startup projects of Turin Polytechnic university in Tashkent.
