Spiritual and educational event within the framework of “Ma’rifat ulashib” project

On May 1, 2024 a spiritual and educational meeting with the famous poet Abdumajid Azim, holder of the “Shukhrat” medal and the “Do‘stlik” order, was held at Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent as part of the “Knowledge Sharing” project.

During the conversation with students, teachers and pupils of the academic lyceum under the university, the poet Abdumajid Azim noted that although today we cannot imagine our present day without the advanced technologies of the information age, it is gratifying that there are young people among students and schoolchildren who are familiar with books.

A book is a great miracle. The person who joins it learns only lessons of humanity. True, today time is rapidly moving forward, computer technologies, the Internet, and information and communication means are rapidly entering our lives. However, no means can replace the book, a poet noted. Also, the speaker informed the audience about the attention paid to reading in our country, the importance of the book in human life.

During the conversation, our guest spoke about the life and philosophical works of our great figures who made a huge contribution to the development of the literary world, such as Alisher Navoi and Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, and gave valuable advice on how the meaning of works and what good ideas they embody, as well as about human development.

Introducing our youth to the world of literature, our guest also presented examples from his own works. During the evening, young people received meaningful answers to their questions about literature. A proposal was made to organize more such significant events.

A meeting was held with the youth attached to the university

At the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, a meeting was held with the youth of the Iyk ota and Sokhil mahallas of the Bektemir district, attached to the university.

    At the meeting, the rector of the university, Olimjon Toychiev, met with the young people and held a conversation on the issues of ensuring their employment in the first place, finding their place in life, and spending their free time in a meaningful way.

   At the end of the meeting, the young people were presented with a 1mln. soum voucher for training courses and souvenirs by the university administration. The young people were also given a tour of the university and introduced to student projects.

   It should be noted that the reforms being carried out in our country are significant in that they are based on the principle of “For the sake of human dignity.” This can also be seen in the example of today’s practical actions.




“Job Fair -2024”

On April 26th, 2024, Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent hosted the “Job Fair -2024” as part of its efforts to provide support for graduates in securing employment and fostering collaboration with employers through open dialogue sessions.

Around 40 companies from various sectors such as manufacturing, information technology, and others participated in job fair, such as “UzAuto Motors” JSC “UzAUTO MOTORS POWERTRAIN”, “OʻzEraeAlternator” LLC, BYD, UZTELECOM, IT Bilim, Cyber Science, Tashkent Tractor Plant, ADM Global, UZINFOCOM, “Kwangjin autosystem” LLC, Huawei, Enter Engineering, and others.

Representatives of the hiring organizations introduced with their vacant positions and promotional materials, familiarizing the students with their companies. Graduating students had the opportunity to network with leading companies in their respective fields, gather information about available job positions, and receive advice on employment and practical matters.

Within the framework of the fair, memorandums on broad cooperation were signed between nearly 20 hiring companies and Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent.

We express our gratitude to all participants for their active involvement in the fair! We hope that the job fair has been beneficial for all participants, providing valuable opportunities for vacant positions.

“Startup projects and startup ideas competition”

Within the framework of the 15th anniversary of the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, a “Startup Projects and Startup Ideas competition” was held at the university among the youth of the republic. More than 70 participants from all over the Republic took part in the competition with their startup projects and ideas. By the decision of the jury, each of the 3 best startup projects received a voucher certificate worth 25 million soums, and each of the 3 best startup ideas received a voucher certificate worth 10 million soums.




“Talabalar Bahori” at TTPU

On April 25, the traditional “Talabalar bahori” (Students’ Spring) festival was held at the university. At this festival, the university and academic lyceum students were awarded who won the competitions in the sports categories in chess, swimming and arm wrestling. Also, dance and musical performances were presented by the university students and members of the music club.




TERROBYTE HACKATHON 2024

From April 23 to 25, Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent held the “TERROBYTE HACKATHON 2024”, a prize fund of 100,000,000 soums, dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the university.
20 teams of students from all higher education institutions in Uzbekistan and schoolchildren took part in this hackathon. In addition, within the framework of the hackathon, the Republican sports programming competition was also organized, in which about 1200 students from our republic competed in the robocontest.uz system.

The main goal of “TERROBYTE HACKATHON 2024” is to develop technological solutions using open data to address problems in various sectors of the Uzbekistan market, to improve existing processes and to develop new software products.

During the three-day Hackathon, which was held at the Technopark of the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, the participants worked on the tasks, assisted by teachers and volunteers from the Department of Automatic Control and Computer Engineering of the university.

In the nomination for the “FutureLogistics Hackathon: Innovation for UzAuto Motors Warehouse Automation and Product Search” competition, the following teams won:

1st PLACE: GEO CAR Team – 15,000,000 soums
2nd PLACE: CYBERPUNK Team – 12,000,000 soums
3rd PLACE: SHU BROTHERS Team – 9,000,000 soums

Within the framework of the hackathon, the winners of the Republican sports programming competition “Young Programmer” are:

1st PLACE: ASILBEK SUNNATOV – 8,000,000 soums and the opportunity to become a Turin student;
2nd PLACE: HUSANBOY MANSURALIYEV – 6,000,000 soums and the opportunity to become a Turin student;
3rd PLACE: ULUGBEK RAHMATULLAYEV – 3,000,000 soums and the opportunity to become a Turin student;

Within the framework of the hackathon, the winners of the Republican sports programming competition “Girls Programmers” are:

1st PLACE: ZARNIGOR RAKHIMOVA8,000,000 soums and the opportunity to become a Turin student;
2nd PLACE: SOLIHA DAGAROVA6,000,000 soums and the opportunity to become a Turin student;
3rd PLACE: OYSHA MIRZATILLAYEVA4,000,000 soums and the opportunity to become a Turin student; In addition, students were awarded in additional nominations within the framework of “TERROBYTE HACKATHON 2024”.




Navruz Cup was held at TTPU

This year, 16 teams of students participated in the traditional Navruz Cup held at our university.

On April 24th, Navruz Cup football game  was held at TTPU between the students’ team and the team of professors and teachers. The professors’ team consisted of faculty members from various departments of the university, as well as staff, while the students’ team was composed of students from TTPU competing for the Navruz Cup.

The friendly and emotional game ended with the victory of the “Dortmund” team of students.

The winning team was awarded with gifts, cup and medals.




Next online meeting of participants of “development of the targeted educational program for bachelors in solar energy in Uzbekistan

In collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, 7 universities of our republic and 3 universities of the European Union – the Polytechnic University of Turin of Italy, the University of Evora of Portugal, the University of Spain Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, next online meeting of participants of “Development of the targeted Educational program for Bachelors in Solar Energy in Uzbekistan (DEBSEUz)” project as part of the ERASMUS+ Higher Education Capacity Building took place on April 19, 2024.

A number of following work packages of the project at the meeting:

– coordination and management of the project

– collection of information and professional development of employees

– organization of laboratories and centers

– project promotion

and various other issues were discussed.

According to the online meeting program, representatives of each university took part in their presentations and shared in detail the results of the work carried out within the project. At the end of the meeting, the project participants discussed the issue of preparation for the next face-to-face meeting in Italy, as well as a plan for the tasks to be solved.




A press-tour was organized at the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent

On April 22, 2024, in celebration of the 15th anniversary of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, media representatives, as well as Italian professors under by led of Stefano Paolo Corgnati the rector of the Politecnico di Torino participated in the press tour.

During the press tour, journalists had the opportunity to learn about the university’s activities, conditions created for students to acquire knowledge, engagement in sports, scientific research. They also had the chance to become closely acquainted with the current startup projects carried out by students in the university’s special laboratories.

During the press tour, a masterclass on chess was conducted for students by international grandmasters, Nodirbek Abdusattorov. Additionally, various models of cars were showed at the AVTO-Fest automobile exhibition for the guests.

After the completion of the university tour, a press briefing was held for journalists and media representatives, where they got answers to their questions.




“Advanced science and technology: Celebrating 15 years of Turin polytechnic university in Tashkent”

Science and Technology: Celebrating 15 Years of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent”. The conference is dedicated to presenting and discussing scientific issues related to the specialties taught at TPU. The conference was opened by the rector of Turin polytechnic university in Tashkent O.Tuychiev, who warmly welcomed the participants and guests and briefly outlined the development of science and technology closely linked to education at TTPU. Then, the rector of Politecnico di Torino Stefano Paolo Corgnati gave a brief welcome speech.

In the first part of the conference, plenary reports were presented by academician D. Tulyaganov and Prof. Alberto Sapora. After the plenary reports, sectional reports were presented. On the first day, reports were presented on the following topics: Natural Sciences, Information and Communication Technology, and Production Management.




“Prospects of Engineering Field in the Republic of Uzbekistan”

On April 22, a forum on the topic “Prospects of Engineering Field in the Republic of Uzbekistan” was held at the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent. The forum was attended by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov, the CEO of “Uzavtosanoat” Ulug‘bek Rozukulov, rectors and professors of engineering universities in our country, the Rector and professors of Politecnico di Torino, representatives from foreign partner universities, various diplomatic missions, and leaders of companies in the automotive industry.

During the forum, it was emphasized that there is a growing demand for engineers in our country and the need to pay special attention to this field. It was highlighted that establishing specialized engineering schools within the higher education system is among the urgent tasks of today. The opinions of foreign experts were also taken into account. It was noted that Turin Polytechnic University is one of the leading universities in the field of engineering education in Uzbekistan’s educational infrastructure.

Before the start of the forum, a video presentation showcasing the achievements of the university over its 15 years of activity was shown to the guests. During the period of cooperation between TTPU and Politecnico di Torino, Italian university rectors Francesco Profumo, Marco Gilli, and Guido Saracco delivered speeches via Zoom. They, in turn, extended their congratulations on the university’s 15th anniversary.




ERASMUS+ Mobility Study Programme for Ph.D. Students Call for Applications

As part of the EU Erasmus+ mobility program, TTPU invites Ph.D. students to apply to participate in a mobility program for 9 months at Politecnico di Torino within the Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreement between both universities.  The purpose of the study visit is to strengthen the research of your PhD thesis, e.g. to open access to new research methodology and theoretical developments relevant to your research, or to work with faculty members abroad with expertise in your field of research, among others.

The scholarship will be awarded on a competitive basis for nine months. Funds can be used toward covering travel expenses, visa and living costs while abroad.

Stays abroad can take place in the first and second semesters of 2024/2025, but stays must end prior to July 31, 2024.

 

Eligibility requirements:

If you are a PhD student at TTPU, you are eligible to apply for the Erasmus+ PhD mobility program, irrespective of what year of study you are in. Students of all nationalities qualify to apply.

Earth Time (day)” at Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent

On March 25, 2024, an action was organized in connection with “Earth Time (day)” at Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent. As part of the campaign, lights, computer equipment, and electricity-related devices were disconnected from the network within one hour.




A round table discussion on the topic “Protection from tuberculosis and HIV infection, prevention of psychotropic and drug use”

A round table was held on the topic “Protection Against Tuberculosis and HIV infection, prevention of psychotropic and drug use” with the participation of students living in the student residence of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent. In order to be useful to students, the regional doctor of the Central multidisciplinary polyclinic G.Q.Uteyanova, territorial nurses M.Aliyeva, G.Musayeva, a promoter of a healthy lifestyle and a narcologist from the Republican specialized scientific and practical medical center of mental health O.I.Sotnikova were invited.

Students living in university by visiting doctors from the campus central multidisciplinary Polyclinic were given general insights into tuberculosis and HIV infection, which are now common among the population. At the same time, student were reminded of ways to protect against damage from the disease.

In the second part of the roundtable, specialists visiting from the Republican specialized scientific and practical medical center of mental health told students about the negative effects of psychotropic and drug use. He also noted that in the process of working with people who are addicted to drugs, it is necessary to work not only with the patient himself, but also with their family members.

At the same time, there was talk of e-cigarettes, which are now popular among the public, especially among young people. The negative effects of these e-cigarettes gave students complete information about the diseases that are causing them behind constant smoking.

 At the end of the event, students got answer to all questions of their interest. Also, gifts were presented to students who actively participated in the round table.

A nationwide hashar was held at TTPU

On March 16-17, a nationwide hashar was held on the territory of Turin Polytechnic university in Tashkent under the slogan “Obod va fayzli mahalla-yurt ko‘rki” on the eve of Navruz holiday. Employees, teaching staff and students of the university took an active part in it and carried out landscaping works at the University area.




The next meeting of the coordinators of the DEBSEUz project was held within the framework of the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.

At the meeting, the issues of developing educational plans and syllabi based on the experience of leading European higher educational institutions, providing literature and laboratory equipment, as well as long-term and short-term specific plans are set.

In addition to the main issues on the agenda of the meeting, preparation for the seminar scheduled to be held in May of this year, as well as issues of determining the branches and topics of the conference planned to be held in September-October under the responsibility of Fergana Polytechnic Institute, were also discussed.
