On July 22 – 28, the city of Blagoevgrad in Bulgaria, the 25th International Mathematical Competition for University Students was held. Four students from Uzbekistan took part in this international Olympiad.
Students of the 4th year of the mathematical faculty of the National University of Uzbekistan Hakimboy Egambergenov and Shokhrukh Ibrahimov were awarded with gold medals (diploma of 1 degree), Farrukh Muhammadiev, a 3rd year student of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent and a 1-year student of the mathematical faculty of the National University Uzbekistan Talibjon Ismailov won bronze medals (diploma of the third degree).
The International Mathematical Olympiad is being held since 1994, the most prestigious international mathematical Olympiad among students. Participants in the Olympics are be asked questions about algebra (linear and abstract), analysis (real and complex), geometry and combinatorics for two days, and they will have to present their solutions in English.
After the Olympiad completion, the written work of the participants is protected by the team leader, and the results are collected.
It should be noted that Khakimbay Egambergenov and Shokhrukh Ibrahimov won the gold medal of the 24th year of the mathematical Olympiad in 2017. Farrukh Muhammadiev and Tolibdzhon Ismailov participate in the achievements of the 2018 Mathematical Olympiad dedicated to the memory of Academician Kori-Niyazov and won this Olympiad.
The rector of the Turin Polytechnic University, Professor K.Sharipov, congratulated the winners, saying that the engineer should have excellent mathematical knowledge.
Students express gratitude to the rector of the National University of Uzbekistan, the rector of the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, the Central Council of the Youth Union of Uzbekistan and private entrepreneur Davron Madyrimov for financial and organizational support and sponsorship of the team at this international Olympiad.
